Hardscapes
Surfaces requiring a hard product whether for a walkway, driveway or parking lot can be a combination of types that are impervious, pervious or incorporating methods to re-route runoff. In this image a sidewalk grate with an artistic design acts as both a beautiful accoutrement to the property as well as a functional and environmentally-friendly option to bring runoff into a series of raingardens.
Softscapes
Vegetation can be designed for a variety of purposes. Whether capturing or filtering runoff or choosing plant materials that require little irrigation, maintenance and fertilizers. Providing habitat for pollinators is an opportunity that vegetation provides.
